Charleston Inshore Fishing Report

Fall is here. It may not feel like it with near record highs, but the water is cooling down and the fish are chomping! The trout bite that was supposed to start a month ago, is finally in full swing. Lots of trout and most of them big. Use long, light, Fluorocarbon leaders on popping corks with small circle or kale hooks and live shrimp. In the early mornings, top water plugs can get the big ones to bite. There's also a ton of slot reds and good sized black drums around right now. While the shrimp are still catchable, they're your best bet for bait. It's going to be a cold winter once it starts so get out there now while it's nice! Good luck and catch em up!
